Come and stand where the village might be: Open Eco Homes Devon, Sunday 4 October

On Sunday 4 October we're opening the gate at Bowden Pillars for Open Eco Homes Devon. Most places on the trail are finished houses you can walk round. Ours isn't built yet. What you'll see is a field above some tumbledown farm buildings, a long view across to Dartmoor, and the plans for the village we hope to build there: 50 low-carbon homes, shaped over the last couple of years with the people who might one day live in them.

We're putting our planning application in this winter, so it's a good moment to come meet us, see the plans and ask questions. How do you keep a home warm through a Devon January without gas? Why aren't the cars parked by the front doors? Who will be able to afford to live there? Some of these we can answer, and some we're still working through. We'll tell you which is which.

Someone from our design and planning team will walk you round the site and talk through the plans.

Getting here: Limited parking at the top of the farm driveway. The ground is rough and uneven and there are no toilets or other facilities, so wear boots and plan around that.
