3rd Anniversary celerations

Third Anniversary Gathering

Sunday 31st May, 2:00–5:00pm

On the land, Bowden Pillars, near Totnes

Three years ago, a community came together and bought this land. On 31st May we are gathering on it to mark what has been quietly built since then - and to share, for the first time, what is coming next.

PLAN FOR THE DAY

* 2 pm -   Storywalk on the Land

* 3 pm -   Village Tour and Talk

* 4 pm -   Gathering on Ceremony Field

Here are the details of each part:

STORYWALK ON THE LAND

Meet at the farmyard for a 2pm start.

We will walk together to the Ceremony Field for a short tale about the beginning of the story of Bowden Pillars Future with Performance Storyteller Steph Bradley.

We will walk around the land, see what has grown, developed or changed.

We will listen short nature tale at the Log Circle with Performance Storyteller Laura Sky followed by reflective walk. What does the land say to you?

Finish at the Village site by 3pm.

VILLLAGE TOUR AND TALK

Meet at the old farm buildings for a 3pm start.

Aleksandra from our Design & Planning circle will talk about Village design progress and show first plans and sketches.

We will walk around the site stopping by information boards at relevant points.

There will be time for your questions to be answered by team members.

We will reflect on our hopes for the Village.

Finish at the Ceremony Field by 4pm

CEREMONY

Meet at the Ceremony Field for a 4pm start.

A time to be on the land.

Participate in one or more activity, or simply sit and enjoy the land.

Create a collective nature mandala with found fallen natural items;

Join in a song with Choir Leader Ian Hague;

Add words for the making of a new poem for Bowden Pillars Future’s 3rd Anniversary

Finish by 5pm.

What to Bring:

* Something to sit on

* Water to drink, a snack if you need it

What to Wear

* Wet weather clothes and layers

* Walking shoes or boots

Location

* We will send exact what3words and maps pin to all location to everyone who confirms.

* Please walk or cycle or arrange to lift share where possible. Parking is at the farmyard, but limited.

* Please note that there are no toilets on site
